COMMENTS:
All samples collected on August 22th were analyzed for blue-green algal toxins using the protein phosphatase inhibition assay.
Blue-green algae presence is persistent within the Bay and there was evidence of a decaying bloom along the eastern shore.
These samples showed minimal risk for microcystin toxins. Users are still encouraged to avoid contact with visible blooms as other irritants may be present.
